Jigokudani Monkey Park (Jigokudake Yaenkoen) is located in Nagano Prefecture. The only place in the world where you can see Japanese monkeys soaking in an onsen up close. How to travel

  • From JR Nagano Station, take the Nagaden Nagano Line, choose the Limited Express train named Snow Monkey, get off at Yudanaka Station, then take the bus.
  • In front of the station, get off at the Kanbayashi Onsen sign or Kanbayashi Onsen-guchi sign. Then continue walking following the sign for about 1.6 kilometers.
