Mikhail Aleksandrovich Nefedov (Ilya Malanin) teaches mathematical statistics and probability theory at the university. The teacher has a phenomenal memory and an impressive IQ. Mikhail Alexandrovich is extremely concerned about procreation. A few years ago, a teacher had a son, Kirill (Leonid Basov), from a colleague. When a boy’s mother dies of a rare genetic disease, Nefedov takes the teenager to get checked.
It turns out that Kirill has the same disease that led to the death of his mother, but in a more severe form. The boy requires urgent treatment. Mikhail Alexandrovich is selling an apartment and making several bets on a football match. Everything is calculated, but the mathematician loses money. Nefedov learns about the underground bookmaking business and declares war on crime.
