Hirosaki Castle was built in 1611 by the Sukaru family. The structure of the castle has 3 floors, consisting of moats, turrets, castle gates, and corner turrets. It is located in Hirosaki Park with an area of about 0.6 square kilometers.

The original five-story castle structure burned down in a lightning strike in 1627 and was rebuilt in 1810 into its current three-story structure.

Hirosaki Park is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan.
