Damnoen Saduak Floating market is a hundreds years old in Thailand and famous place to visit in Rajaburi province. The floating market is located in Ratchaburi and connecting to Samut Sakhon Province and Samut Songkhram province. Damnoen Saduak floating market will open from 8.00-17.00 pm. The market sell many kind of products such as food, utensils and souvenirs including handicrafts which is popular for everyone.

This market was built during in 1967 with rowing boats carrying goods for sell and exchange for living. The vendors wear dark-colored clothes like gardeners and wear a bonnet and peddling. Nowadays, both Thai and foreign tourists come to see the lifestyle and trading in this floating market. As it’s a hundred year old market which has dug the Damneon Saduak Canal under the initiative of King Mongkut with His Highness for communication with people. In the past there no road connected to other districts. Most of them used boats as a vehicle and connected to Mae Klong river. The origin of the name was given by King Rama 5

How to get there:

By car

  • Drive a car along to Petchkasem Road (Highway 4) pass Bang Khae, Suan Sampran, Nakhon Chai Si, Nakhon Pathom, at Km 83. Go a little to find Bang Phae Intersection, turn left on Highway 325 for approximately 25 kilometers, cross the Thanarat Bridge for 200 meters and turn right for another 1 kilometer
  • Or drive a car from the Thonburi – Pak Tho route (Highway 35) for 63 kilometers. Turn right onto Highway 325, passing Samut Songkram city, then turn onto Highway 325 for about 12 kilometers. The entrance to the floating market is before. Thanarat Bridge 200 meters and turn left for 1 kilometer

By public transport

  • By bus: with an air-conditioned bus from Bangkok – Damnoen Saduak in the Southern Bus Terminal of Bangkok on Boromarajonani Road. The first trip from 05.00 am., Takes about 2 hours, get off the car at the market of Thanarat Bridge, then can take the minibus around the market of Thanarat Bridge further to Damneon Saduak Floating Market about 1 kilometer.   • You can travel with other buses, such as the Bangkok-Ratchaburi Line, Bangkok-Phetchaburi (Old Line) and get off at Bang Phae Intersection. After that, connect the minibus. Which runs between the Bang Phae junction to Damnoen Saduak, with buses departing every 10 minutes.
