According to Korean media reports, after investigation by the Southern Yangju Police Station in South Gyeonggi Province, Park Boram drank with two female friends at the home of an acquaintance in Yangju City on April 11 at 9:55 pm Korean time. . At that time, Park Boram went to the bathroom and never came out. She was later found lying unconscious in front of the dressing table. Friends immediately called the police and performed CPR, but they still did not regain consciousness.

Park Boram was then sent to Guri Hospital of Hanyang University, but at 11:17 it was officially declared that the rescue was ineffective. The police said they would commission the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to conduct an autopsy to investigate the exact cause of death.
